The world of wedding stationery goes far beyond invitations. There's a whole host of stationery pieces that can make your wedding the most beautiful event of the year. 1. Save the Date
The Save the Date is the first contact with your guests, letting them know to pencil in the date — a sort of pre-invitation. This information will later be expanded on when the invitation arrives with the rest of the wedding details.
Many couples skip this step and go straight to the invitation, but it's a wonderful option for couples with friends and family abroad. It's also incredibly useful for finding out in advance who you can count on for the big day.
Although some brides choose to send an electronic Save the Date, at Marmarina we believe nothing can replace paper, and we always recommend sending a printed card to add an extra touch of excitement to the preparations.
2. Wedding invitations
Once you've sent the Save the Date, it's time for the star of wedding stationery: the wedding invitations. Handing out invitations is a really special moment, whether you deliver them in person or send them by post. With the invitation, you let your guests know how thrilled you are for them to join you on the big day, and you'll also give them a few clues about what to expect.
It's most common for the invitation's style to echo the overall style of the wedding. For example, if botanical touches will feature throughout your wedding, it's a lovely idea for the invitations to hint at this too, without giving too much away. 3. Envelopes for wedding invitations
At our studio, one of our golden rules is this: a great invitation should always be paired with an envelope to match. The envelope is your calling card, the first impression — especially if you've skipped the Save the Date. That's why we have a wide range of lined envelopes to accompany our invitations or add a different touch to a design of your own. Remember, the wedding envelope is just as important as the invitation, so feel free to mix & match!
4. Wedding stationery accessories
Wedding stationery accessories are all those pieces that give guests extra information, such as RSVP cards or maps and directions.

Although this information can be included in a bespoke invitation, it's traditional to add a wedding map to the envelope alongside the main card, to help guests find their way to the ceremony and celebration.
Wedding RSVP cards
You should also include the couple's details so guests can formally confirm their attendance, either with an RSVP card or a wedding website card if you've decided to create a website for your big day.
Gift list
Finally, if you'd like to let your guests know about your gift list or bank details, once again a card is the best solution.
These are elements that can sometimes go unnoticed, but the information they hold is essential.

5. Seating plan
You may not have come across this term before you had to start planning a wedding — or rather, before you started thinking about how to organise your wedding! But it's one of those concepts you'll never forget once you learn it.
This term refers to the table plan showing exactly where each guest will sit during the meal. From experience, it's one of the toughest jobs for wedding planners, which is perhaps why it's become such a focal point in all kinds of events.
The seating plan is both functional and decorative, and has become one of the most eye-catching corners of weddings thanks to its creativity. And, of course, it should match the wedding's theme and the rest of the stationery. 
6. Table numbers
To avoid any confusion, it's essential that every table has its own marker. Give each table a specific number or name so guests can easily find their table when they arrive at the venue.

7. Place cards
If you're a bride who loves the little details, you'll definitely want place cards on your wedding tables. They're used to mark each guest's name at their spot, showing exactly where they'll be sitting. This little touch is guaranteed to bring a smile or two, we promise!

8. Wedding menus

And finally, the favourite element of the most perfectionist couples. Even though it goes without saying that couples are thrilled to welcome their guests, it's a lovely touch to add a thank you card at each place setting, to thank every guest for being part of that special day.
These can be personalised or not, and you can even send them by post once the big day is over. It's entirely up to you how you do it, just like with all the other elements. What matters most is that it's your big day, in every sense.
